Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding was born Elena Jane Goulding in Hereford on December 30, 1986. Ellie Goulding rose quickly to the top of the charts with her electro pop sound after capturing the attention of people through her hit songs "Starry Eyed" along with "Guns and Horses" in 2010. Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. With her distinctive soprano voice and knack for writing catchy yet emotionally earnest songs, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap has a place at the cutting edge of contemporary mainstream music and arty, independent-minded pop.Goulding soon graduated from blogs to print media, gaining recognition from major publications such as The Guardian and fielding offers from record companies. The final decision was to sign a major label deal with Polydor Records and began making plans for her debut album.
